wroberts Posted October 22, 2013 Posted October 22, 2013 @themightymrp did you have the issue of all LLN emails going straight to the junk folder? We did ! And then your able to add specific whitelisted domains to the admin panel !
hallb15 Posted October 22, 2013 Author Posted October 22, 2013 We did ! And then your able to add specific whitelisted domains to the admin panel ! I've just done that today but when I tested it earlier, it didn't seem to have worked. I wondered if there was a delay before this kicked in so I just tried again and now it is working - yeah!

I wondered if there was a delay before this kicked in so I just tried again and now it is working - yeah! I still get it occasionally. @worberts could you please post your whitelist filter. i was told there was a bug with exchange 2013 where it would ignore whitelists for whole domains and you'd need to add a rule on each mailbox for each address... which wasn't going to happen.

wroberts Posted October 23, 2013 Posted October 23, 2013 The picture of the rule we have is below ! 1
Marshall_IT Posted October 23, 2013 Posted October 23, 2013 The picture of the rule we have is below ! Thanks, it might have been the fact i was on Wave 14 at the time.. I'll look again now.
themightymrp Posted October 23, 2013 Posted October 23, 2013 (edited) Hi peeps - sorry I didn't realise this conversation was going on! Yes we had the problem with the LLN emails going to Junk folder. My mail filter to sort this is set as follows (the option to bypass spam filter is a built in option) EDIT - You will note I also added the leeds.gov.uk domain to my list. The LLN in their infinite wisdom kept making changes to their system which occasionally made HR emails go to Junk!! Edited October 23, 2013 by themightymrp 2

Only thing dofferent is priority I need to make the bypass higher priority!
themightymrp Posted October 23, 2013 Posted October 23, 2013 Yeah, just make it a fairly high up priority. Seems to work fine
hallb15 Posted October 23, 2013 Author Posted October 23, 2013 Thanks for the info @themightymrp I'll add leeds.gov.uk to ours too, just to be on the safe side.
wroberts Posted November 4, 2013 Posted November 4, 2013 Hi All Moved away from LLN However some of our SLT are still using lln emails until the cut off date in march! I need to be able to connect their outlook to the LLN Mail Servers. Has anyone managed to do this ? Regards Will
jonnykewell1 Posted November 4, 2013 Posted November 4, 2013 Hi will, Is this for users still on the LLN connection (the SLT) ? If so what would have changed if they are still on the LLN connection? when the username and password box first appears enter username@lln.local and enter the password. Then on the next username and password box that appears change this to username@leedslearning.net then the password. This is what I used previously with outlook and worked every time.

themightymrp Posted November 4, 2013 Posted November 4, 2013 Hi, what you need to do is put the same settings into Outlook as you would if you were doing it at home. Follow the attached guide I made LLN and Outlook.docx 2

Rick2134 Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 @themightymrp did you have the issue of all LLN emails going straight to the junk folder? A powershell cmd will sort this out: How to set up safe senders and blocked senders in Office 365 1
wroberts Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 Hi, what you need to do is put the same settings into Outlook as you would if you were doing it at home. Follow the attached guide I made Hi, The guide you gave me originally worked, however the users i set up using this method then stop working intermittently ! Any ideas ?
themightymrp Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 Has that only been happening this week? Or was it doing it before too?
sted Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 it does seem in my experience that even though people can use their lln logon to get to internet(and webmail) every now and again outlook itself just says no with the same details
wroberts Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 as far as i can remember it has always happened when we were on the LLN Connection aswell as on the SchoolsBroadband connection !
themightymrp Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 The only reason I ask about the timeframe is that the LLN have had a number of intermittent connectivity issues this week which could very well have caused it. They have been texting me left, right and centre with progress updates!
Marshall_IT Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 I've had the same issue with outlook intermittently not connecting to LLN. Only over the past 2 weeks though as we've only just left this half term.
