RSAT for 8.1 RTM

Are they available yet, I cant seem to find any information except for the preview version.

i suspect they will be released at the same time as the vlk versions of 8.1 so late september

That's interesting - how did you get this to work? When I try and run the preview RSAT "Windows8-RT-KB2693643-x64" on the Technet 8.1 Pro RTM I get an error "The update is not applicable to your computer".

Probably the same problem I got with the Windows 8 one - the RSAT update only supports English in en-US and we Brits typically install Windows with en-GB as the display language.

 

Download the language pack ISO for Windows 8.1 and mount it. Then in PowerShell, run Add-WindowsPackage -packagePath I:\langpacks\en-us\lp.cab -online (substitute I: for whatever drive letter the image is mounted on). Once it's finished, try the update again.

Thanks AngryTechnician - that sorted it. Jeez - I wish MS would remember there are other countries in the world and/or make the installer return a useful error message. I know RSAT is very anal about the version of Windows you use so I jumped to the wrong conclusion based on the vague error.
