nicholab Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 Anyone seen this software and set up to use with a kinect https://www.ubi-interactive.com/
Domino Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 There's a few to many caveats there I think to be able to make a judgement, without seeing it actually working: https://www.ubi-interactive.com/faq/ There are two main modes/setups for Ubi. When the Kinect is set 31.5-47” from the display, it operates in finger mode, where the sensor detects each finger as a touch point. When the Kinect is set 47-82” away from the display, Ubi operates in hand mode, where the sensor detects each hand as a touch point. It's certainly not a 'one size fits all situations' replacement, I don't see it as being as flexible as the varied IWB options. Plus no pen input.
VeryPC_Colin_F Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 You will find many products coming out the woodwork like this in the near future. Interactive is a rapidly growing market so there will always be designing to make it a cheaper option compared to interactive boards and interactive projectors. I have not tried this one so i can not really comment but im confident to think it will not be as responsive as a interactive board or projector. Col
