Dos_Box Posted August 25, 2013 Posted August 25, 2013 Moving to windows forum. And do you have permission to: a. Run batch files and... b. Access the share? If the share is hidden and you are the network admin then it shouldn't be a problem for you to access it once you have sorted these issues out. You do have the authority to do this don't you?
engineer_z Posted August 25, 2013 Author Posted August 25, 2013 Am trying to run the short cut of the bat file with admin properties. I don't know may the problem relate to the shortcut?

Arthur Posted August 25, 2013 Posted August 25, 2013 Am trying to a mount a network drive with the following in a bat file Have you tried using UNC paths instead? The problem is when I run the shortcut of the bat file, the mounted network drive is not shown. It sounds like you need to set the following registry value. This problem occurs because UAC treats members of the Administrators group as standard users. When network shares are mapped, they are linked to the current logon session for the current process access token. This means that if a user uses the command prompt (cmd.exe) together with the filtered access token to map a network share, the network share is not mapped for processes that run with the full administrator access token. (Source) Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System] "EnableLinkedConnections"=dword:00000001
engineer_z Posted August 25, 2013 Author Posted August 25, 2013 where should I put this code Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System] "EnableLinkedConnections"=dword:00000001
Arthur Posted August 25, 2013 Posted August 25, 2013 where should I put this code Copy-and-paste into Notepad, save as EnableLinkedConnections.reg and then double-click the .reg file.
