Blu ray burning software recommendations needed please

Morning all,

 

I'm just about to archive a load of old data off our network onto bluray's.

 

I'm wondering if anyone could recommend a good piece of bluray burning software that allows data sessions and allows multiple disc span.

I've seen poweriso, is this any good?

I have to be frank here, wouldn't it be better just to put it all on a (removable) hard drive if you have such an amount that you would need Blu-Ray to back it up onto? At least the information will last longer and still be able to be read years down the line.

CDBurnerXP. Despite the name, it works with Blu-ray's and OSs newer than XP.

I would consider using Winrar (or other) to create the spanning files with a high recovery % to allow for problems reading the files.

I burnt my BluRays with Nero and it worked fine

I was going to suggest ImgBurn too, but does it support multiple data sessions? It doesn't seem to with DVDs.

What do you mean with multiple sessions? I was burning shedloads of different DVDs to 8 burners simultaneously last year.

What do you mean with multiple sessions?

For example, say you burn 25GB of data to a 50GB Blu-ray disc and then the next day want to add another 25 gig to fill up the remaining space. Unless the program supports multiple data sessions, you wouldn't be able to do this. You'd either have to split the data across multiple discs unnecessarily or burn another disc with all 50 gigabytes of data on it and throw the previous one in the bin.

 

I am pretty certain ImgBurn doesn't support multiple sessions based on this comment...

I was thinking CD Burner XP ( as that is the one I use and have used for quite some time ) As per @Arthur's comment above
