Old PBX phone system - Line splitter

Hi ,

 

We have an old type PBX phone system at the school . We currently have a line going into the office that works fine . Basically what we want is to have two phones going off the same line ( we don't want them independent , we just want to share the line so say if the phone rings either one of us can answer from each phone ) .

 

The Phone guy said its possible with some type of PBX line splitter/amplifier type device but searching has come to no avail ! .

 

Any one done this in there office ? and know what we need ?

It may work just by running an extension from the existing socket and plugging in a phone.

It all depends if the line is analogue or digital? If the latter than it's a no go, you will need another line and the PBX will have to be set up to ring both lines.

 

If the other, then a BT splitter: bt splitter | eBay, will do, and an extension cable

With our digital PBX (BT Meridian/Norstar) you can just use an ordinary splitter, both phones then work from that extension.
