Install Open Office for network users.

We are creating an image with Open Office on, We have tested the image by logging on a as student and found that for every user that logs on it wants to register.

 

We have tried several things but had not luck. Is there anyway we can stop Open Office from wanting to register every time a user logs on?

 

Is there something in the registry or similar?

Have you tried making a profile registering it once an and making that profile mandatory for the students, or tried doing it with the existing one (presuming the students profile are mandatory)

I stuck open office portable on a network share and let users run it from there. Seems to work well and no registration.

We Use Mandatory profiles and by registering whilst creating the mandatory profile worked for us.

disable the whole welcome/license/registration dialog.

 

edit C:\Program Files\OpenOffice.org 2.0\share\registry\data\org\openoffice\setup.xcu

just replaced the subnodes of the node called Office.

I did a nice gpo for this, setting office to default to saving as 2003, deploying an odf converter plugin and the above script.
