glennda Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 Who do people recommend for VPS's? Currently got a dedicated server with Webfusion. Won't be running anything major on the server (DNS, mail relay). Looking at something like 2gb ram, 70gb HDD, 2 cores and a couple of IP's. Currrently looking at 123-reg.co.uk but welcome recommendations. Also does anybody know if you can install DNS on Windows Server Web edition? Toby

I will go with 123-reg then if its webfusion Cheers
rich_tech Posted August 8, 2013 Posted August 8, 2013 I was with web fusion aeons ago for hosting and I found them expensive, though I was naive back then and did not know what I was after in a web hosting package, so avoided them afterwards, but I remember then it was a minimum term job with their hosting. I was with 123-reg for years though as they were one of the cheapest registrars around, though they got bought out by them I think a little over a year ago now, nothing has changed much for me with 123-reg, though I notice since webfusion bought them out, your now inundated with addons and extra purchase options when buying domains now trying to sell you no end of extras.
Arthur Posted August 8, 2013 Posted August 8, 2013 CS New Media do virtual Windows servers, as does Microsoft with Azure.
matt40k Posted August 8, 2013 Posted August 8, 2013 I'd recommend Netcetera, you can normally get a deal out of them. Microsoft silver partner too.
mac_shinobi Posted August 8, 2013 Posted August 8, 2013 I think @kmount knows someone that I used for a while. Great support and fast to fix any issues I had.
