Windows 7 Magnifier Will not Start

So, I have a 15 inch HP ProBook 450GO here, nice and new ready for a VI student who starts with us in september, except 1 thing will not work, Microsoft Magnifier, I managed to set it on my test account to load at login through the ease of access centre and it loads, but if you close it, or do not load it and open it after the task bar has appeared, it just will not load, no errors, nothing in the Application Event log, it just will not load.

 

Has anyone come accross this before, or does anyone know a good open sourc alternative from the M$ Magnifier that allows full screen zooming?
