Rawns Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 I use Firefox as my main browser. I only have a small number of plug-ins and extensions, and only ever have around 8 tabs open. Memory use seems to exceed 500Mb and I'm wondering if this is about average? It seems a little excessive to me.
john Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 About 1.7Gb here with 3 windows open and maybe the best part of 70 tabs between the windows. Not huge number of plugins or extensions either.

FN-GM Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Firefox has been like this for years. It really lets it down.
Arthur Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 70 tabs?! I often have 150+ tabs open in Chrome. Memory usage is around 10-15GB. Firefox has been like this for years. Firefox has improved a lot in recent years. See the MemShrink project. It really lets it down. Not really. If you have the RAM, you might as well use it.
