It's not too bad, best option is to not look ahead and just tick it off step by step When you look ahead i did the same thing as you "urgh"

Nearly done here, all staff and students moved over. Done the system mailboxes now just doing the journaling mailbox.

Just reading though the guide now, ad looking at step 4. Will the restrict the size of the public folders when i import to 2013? Also what unit is the size measured in please? Edited July 31, 2013 by FN-GM

It says "size in bytes" but i think you can still use things like 100MB or 1GB etc. so long as you suffix the MB or GB

 

If I'm not mistaken you can find your largest current public folder and set the maximum to a bit larger than that, i don't think it resticts it but if it does i think you can change it later by editing the individual public folder that's been affected.

 

Note: Purely guessing based on rough information, so i could be wrong.

Sorted. Not as bad as i thought. Just need to look through exchange 2010 and see if i need to do anything before i decommission. thanks for the help.

When you delete the edb file did you delete just the logs + edb file? As i'm pretty sure you need the rest of the stuff in that folder such as the chk file. I can't remember exactly what i did but those steps pretty much worked for me, albeit the instructions weren't the clearest as I think i had to leave something else behind.

I renamed the parent folder. In the end i did this

 

Navigate to

CN=Configuration,DC=contoso,DC=com

CN=Services

CN=Microsoft Exchange

CN=Your Org Name

CN=Administrative Groups

CN=Exchange Administrative Group.

CN=Databases

CN=Public Folder Database 0114374648

 

Right Click on this PF Database and Delete it.

@mrbios did you ever fix that problem with outlook not picking up the new exchange server settings? Its being more of a problem here than we first thought. Thanks
