Windows 8.1 on Surface RT / Miracast / Other Wireless HDMI connection

Does anyone who has tried the 8.1 preview know if Miracast works on the Surface RT

 

Failing that can any recommend a good method of wirelessly connecting a Surface RT to a projector (mainly in our teaching rooms for PowerPoint, video clips etc) - don't really want to use a 20m HDMI cable!!!

According to this forum it can work using a Surface Pro and possibly from an RT if they release appropriate drivers.
