flyinghaggis Posted July 24, 2013 Posted July 24, 2013 I like my original Nexus 7 but I personally feel that a 7" screen is too small for a tablet. It just makes it feel like a large smartphone. IMO you really need a 10-12" screen in a portable tablet. Having used a iPad4/SurfaceRT tablet for a while that sort of screen size a much better form factor for viewing desktop webpages and general productivity.

I did wonder that, but when the old Nexus 7 was originally released eBuyer shipped orders before Google did. I purchased a Nexus 7 from Google Play and it was frustrating reading about people receiving their tablets from eBuyer before the official release date (especially since Google charged a tenner for P&P).

The issue was so irksome that Jean-Baptiste Quéru (JBQ), Google's Android open source manager, decided to leave that post. Well, that must have lit a fire under someone, because Google just posted the image and drivers for the Razor hardware.

I'm surprised Google hasn't alienated all of the OEM's by now to be honest. How are they supposed to compete with that kind of price tag and still manage to turn a profit!
