Active Inspire slow to start up

ActiveInspire is slow to start up . It takes 40 seconds with board connected and 5 if disconnected.

We are using windows 7 64 bit . tried latest driver but had troubles connecting at all on serial but ok on usb .

version 5.9.16 is better and serial and usb work.

board firmware is V3.47 build 1 serial V5.537.1 ID=1

 

The newer the firmware the faster it seems... (we have around 40 boards of varying age)

But I cant get newer firmware as our boards are old (8years) and we have no support.

Anything else I can try ?

You can get the firmware for the older boards we just updated some really old ProActiv 78's the d/l and instructions are on prometheanworld.

Hi sfawcett2,

Promethean will still support your ActivBoards, and any ActivBoards that have been recognised as needing a firmware update that are out of warranty, will be upgraded at entirely your own risk.

Promethean support will still provide you with the relevant firmware updates for each model of ActivBoard if it is deemed to be required. This statement is still true even if your ActivBoards are out of warranty.

Although you have no warranty entitlement, you can still contact the Support team for advice/ assistance.

As some of your ActivBoards are connected via serial cables we would probably need to send you a CD with the firmware in order that the firmware can be upgraded. You can onbtain this by contacting Promethean support, who may ask you for the serial numbers of all of your boards in order that the correct firmware can be sent.

I will collect the serial numbers (do I need to take the board of the wall to do this) and contact promethean support.

You shouldn't need to take the board of the wall. Feel round the edges for a fold out tag... on the left edge - behind the bottom left corner from what I remember.
