purpleoakley Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 Hi All, I have become our AV person at the College, general duties include setting up for assemblies but everynow and then I do the school productions and have been asked to set up lights and sound for external bookings. My question is can anyone recommend any training programs for lighting and sound? I am at the moment winging it and using Google if I get really stuck but I'd really like to be able to know what I'm doing and what I'm talking about when people ask about different cables, lights, mics etc. I know there are many different lighting decks out there and have the very large manual to go with ours I just want some general knowledge on anything AV. Many thanks H
pcstru Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 One of our local theatre type venues runs a sound engineering course every so often. You might find your local theatre technicians would help you out or let you spend time with them during rehearsals. 1
john Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 Stage Electrics often run courses on LX and AV so could be worth a look out, contact the training team via the Website if you don't see a course up as they tend to look for a bit of demand as well before sticking them up 1
