zag Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 (edited) For years we have used a small app called js2prt to connect to printers for students around the school. All it does is check the location of the computer in active directory and connect to the correct printer. Are there any better apps out there that do the same thing? Edited July 10, 2013 by zag
Michael Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 You can do this with Group Policy Print Management or GPP, deploying printers based on per computer, per user or both. This has been possible since Server 2003 R2 and later.
imunro01 Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 Have you got a link to js2print, as it sounds like something we could use

sted Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 I don't really want printers connecting automatically, just when a user clicks on a shortcut. if you want them on demand you can create shortcuts to them just go to your print server and right click drag a printer to a folder/desktop and it creates a shortcut in theory a user could click this to install though i havnt tried it
