Just want to make sure I have this right...

I should be able to OSD a new computer which has never been on the domain before. Have it install the Config Mgr Client during the OSD and that computer then be immediately able to be managed by SCCM?

This should be a fairly simple thing to do right? There are no caveats where the computer must already have an AD account or be known to SCCM before hand.

I just want to make sure what I'm trying to do it achievable and practical before I start to lose my hair.

That's correct, you're certainly able to do that. In the task sequence you can of course set up scripts or what not to prompt you to enter a name, use a default naming scheme or something to make it touch-free.

That's nice to know. I've been struggling for a few days now on something and wanted to make sure I wasn't asking it to do the impossible. For some stupid reason when I deploy an OSD it installs fine and I can chose what OU to stick it in give it a name at run time however the Config Mgr Client just isn't playing ball... I made another topic on it so probably no need for two but just getting frustrated :(

Can't say I've seen that one. Have you been following one of the guides for instance windows-noob ?

When the machine is finally up and running, is either CCMexec.exe or CCmsetup.exe running in task manager?
