Hi

When running a report I ran it perfectly, for a whole year group, creating a letter as RTF from sims behaviour data. However today I have added the school header to the template and it wont let me run - giving me the error System.OutOfMemoryException.

Anyone know how I can get this to work - presumably my school logo has made the template too large a file to run, can i free up memory? Is it memory on my pc or on the server?

Any help please

I'm not sure if the memory problem is on the server or client (though I suspect client as some larger reports can only be run on the server) but I'd suggest adding in a registration group filter and running them a reg group or two at a time

Maybe freeing up some memory in your computer my help as well as a teacher had a similar error message. They had to free up some memory in their computer hard drive and it worked

Hmmm.... i think it maybe the machine, although i've got 165GB free, so don't think i need to free much up, and also i've try running it on 3 machines - say issue!

I dont really know how to run it on the server itself - is this possible/ simple to do?

Are you using the express edition of SQL2008?

When you hit preview when reporting, does the report show with no errors?

Sorry i dont know which SQL i'm using, but when i run a preview my report runs fine, and when I run the report - without the school badge image on the top it runs and merges correctly into the RTF, however when i add the image to the top of the template it fails.

If you have a SupportNet account with Capita, KB91561 might help

If you don't have one, sign up for one as it can be very handy when needing to solve an issue quickly for SIMS.

Basically the KB says that it is due to your logo being outside of the page boundary.

You need to edit your user defined template and bring the logo in closer.

Should fix the report.
