Does anyone know when the trial ends - how you go to a full blown A2 full function suite?

Yes, add in your academic domain to your tenant to verify eligibility and then you'll be able to access the A2 SKU under the "purchase services" section.

 

.sch.uk and .ac.uk are automatically approved since they're only available to edu customers; any other TLD requires you to fill in a form.
