Windows xp remote desktop on 3g issue

Hi all,

 

I have a strange problem I have just noticed on our laptops. They are all running windows xp SP3. When I go to connect to our 3G connection which then connects to our APN and our network it will not let me log on with multi remote. Now I know there is that problem with Win XP and multiremote but I have resolved it with a group policy which makes the necessary registry changes.

 

This allows me to log on as the user who is currently logged on, but if they are on a 3g connection when I try to log on as a different user I get it trying to log in, giving me all the usual Loading settings etc.. but then it disconnects the 3g connection and even if I reconnect it I still get The 2 computers couldn't connect in the amount of time allotted.

 

This happens every time. I have tried it with different model laptops and the same issue. Is there something I am missing or is this simply a limitation of Windows XP that I was not aware of?
