edutech4schools Posted June 19, 2013 Posted June 19, 2013 I am using the tasker app which is fantastic and wanted to create a menu in the notifications pull down bar that when pressed opens a menu with 4 profile options, Home, Work, Car, Night. I can create the profiles which change volume settings, wifi on off etc but can not find anything online to create the menu system. If this is not possible should I look at listing each profile as separate entities in the pull down bar which I would imagine is easier. I am very new to tasker and hope someone at edugeek is able to help a little.
edutech4schools Posted June 20, 2013 Author Posted June 20, 2013 Found this which might be what I am after [MOD] Permanent notification menu in tasker - xda-developers but in section 3 it says to Hit the tool icon & where it have Task Type hit the drop down & pick Menu I am not able to find a tool icon. I must be looking in the wrong section.
Rawns Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 Interestingly while I've not used it before, I'm looking at creating profiles for my phone once my phone holder for my car arrives. I'll check out tasker and if I use it and have a play, I'll feed back.
creese Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 I use Setting Profiles it has Widgets for the profiles.
benjie Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 I use profile scheduler.http://chart.apis.google.com/chart?chs=200x200&cht=qr&chld=|1&chl=http%3A%2F%2Fgoo.gl%2Fmrk6l
edutech4schools Posted June 20, 2013 Author Posted June 20, 2013 I do already use profile widget but wanted to use tasker as you can then add your own voice controls and get it to speak back when a setting has changed or even get it to automatically change the profiles based on other tasks like near to a certain cell tower. It also saves me having to install lots of different apps.
Rawns Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 I use profile scheduler.http://chart.apis.google.com/chart?chs=200x200&cht=qr&chld=|1&chl=http%3A%2F%2Fgoo.gl%2Fmrk6l I like free apps so will give this one a go first, thanks.
edutech4schools Posted June 20, 2013 Author Posted June 20, 2013 You might find that the other profiler apps were actually made using tasker as it gives you the option to create apps to post in google play and like I said above it also does the same as a ton of other apps so you only need this one rather than lots of other apps.
edutech4schools Posted June 20, 2013 Author Posted June 20, 2013 back on track - how do I find the tool icon when creating a task in tasker?
Danp Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 What phone? If you have one with NFC you can buy and program NFC tags to profiles
