Some staff roaming profiles not loading?

Hi All,

We have a weird one here, some staff, but not all (at least i don't think all), are having an issue with their roaming profile.

They log on do some changes, log off, log back on and all those changes are forgotten. For example they have to reinput their details in outlook, google chrome always starts with the log in window etc.

 

Can anyone suggest what we can do to investigate what is going on?

rsop see if the setting that stops updates from propagating back to server is turned on?

but check the whole part of gpo where that lays.

Computer config -> Admin Templates -> System -> User Profiles.

 

also, cant remember where it is or what the exact name is, but there is an allow logon locally setting, might be in the above. might be worth checking that

you can set the client Pc to "do not propagate to server" option in the user profiles. BUT It'll also not propagate temporary profiles or profiles that failed to load properly. Have you checked the event logs?

The gpo that sets the users profiles has no settings for staff so I may have a play round with that.

I'm wating feedback from users still but this does seem to have occurred after the last lot of Windows updates went onto our servers. I rebooted them all last night to see if that finishes off any updates that needed a reboot for good measure.

Have you a Vanilla network or are you using RM at all?
