soveryapt Posted June 12, 2013 Posted June 12, 2013 Morning all I'm just checking RoboCopy is still the best method for moving files from a main data store to a backup drive that haven't been accessed for, say 18 months or so, complete with the file structure and what not? Ta Andy T
soveryapt Posted June 12, 2013 Author Posted June 12, 2013 Yeh robocopy is what I use with the /Mirror switch. Does the /mir switch only purge the source folders if they are empty? (i.e. some folders will have files in that are still being accessed and used etc)
zag Posted June 12, 2013 Posted June 12, 2013 (edited) Oh sorry I totally misread the question. This is the script we use to Archive data over 5 years old. robocopy.exe "C:\Data\Teacher\TeacherUserData" "C:\Data\_Archive\Teacher\TeacherUserData" *.* /S /COPY:DATSO /MOVE /ZB /NP /XA:RHS /XF *.ini *.ico /MINAGE:1800 /R:2 /W:10 Edited June 12, 2013 by zag 1
