Hi Folks,

Me again! Is it possible to change your display name on external email? Currently we have ours set as Surname Initial. However my surname always leads to suppliers calling for the wrong person, or my email responses starting with my surname :(

I don't want to change it for all staff, nor change mine so it sticks out like a sore thumb in the address book.

Regards,

Hi,

Thank you for the reply. That is exactly what I want to achieve! However in AD I cannot see the SimpleDisplayName :(

We are running Exchange 2007 with Windows Server 2008 OS.

In the AD you can only find it in the Attribute Editor as displayNamePrintable. It has no value by default, so may not be in the list depending on your filter settings (you also need to have Advanced Features ticked to see the Attribute Editor tab).

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the replies. I have found displayNamePrintable in AD. I have changes this value to what I would like my external emails display name to be, but doesn't see to have done the trick. Have I missed something?

Regards

Have you run the powershell command listed in the article?

You might also need to rebuild the address book...maybe?
