In car drive recorder. Finevu cr-500hd vs Roadhawk HD?

Hi.

 

Roads round my way are just getting dangerous at the minute.

 

Just drove home from work and stopped at the light. Van was up front then a BMW and then me. The lights turned to green but there was a elderly guy still crossing in front of the van. The BMW driver then decided to wheel spin round the van and shoot up the road.

 

And Jeremy Clarkson said that co**s had left BMWs

 

I had a Blackvue dr500gw but if you went over 50mph you couldn't even read the massive motorway signs. I emailed them and they said this was normal so It went back as not fit for purpose.

 

The other two that I've seen are the fine he cr-500hd and roadhawk HD.

 

Has anyone had any experience with these or others?

 

They need to have gps.

Sorry to hijack the thread slightly but just to ask how do you use the camera on a daily basis? Do you completely remove it every night etc. and set it up the following morning or is it some kind of fixed installation? I used to have an in car camera (cheapy chinese one) but the faff of messing around with suction cups etc every day and aligning it just stopped me using it?

Yeah. Would defiantly be leaving it in.

 

There are some good looking models with screens but you would have to take these out at night so I'm avoiding these.

 

The Blackvue was large but it doesn't standout as much as something like a tomtom would.

 

There are apps for the iPhone but again you would have to install and aligns very time you get in.

 

Have watched a video of the road hawk at speed and it is better than the blackvue at speed but you still cannot read motorway signs. I believe there is a higher fps mode at a lower quality not sure if this would help.
