Homeland Posted June 1, 2013 Posted June 1, 2013 Are you looking for 2.4 or 5ghz ??? I bought some Atheros mini pci cards from ebay at £12 each and at 5ghz they hit 300Mbps.

MatthewL Posted June 14, 2013 Author Posted June 14, 2013 Ordered the card (Atheros 5418 AR5008) from eBay and have it connected and it appears to work although I only have 2 cables and there are 3 slots on the card to plug them into, any advice?
Homeland Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 I only had 2 cables as well a white one and a black one, the black cable went on the right hand side connection and the white on on the middle connection the one on the left was left blank.

chazzy2501 Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 mimo setup needs 3 antennas to operate in full duplex, otherwise wont work in mimo mode and fall back to half duplex. but this is moot if your AP doesn't support mimo anyway! mimo and dual band are what are responsible for bloated impossible claims of wifi throughput.

MatthewL Posted June 14, 2013 Author Posted June 14, 2013 Looks like my card is faulty and is BSOD even on a clean install of Windows so defiantly a hardware issue. Shame when it was working it was nice.
