Homeland Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 I have been asked today to get SIMS ready for the staff workforce census, can somebody tell me what is involved as the school has very little information. I understand that all the staff contracts etc. need inputting but how do I go about setting up pay spines etc. ???
PhilNeal Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 This is no small task! Contracts as well as absences you name it. We supply the pay spines always assuming that your school hasn't defined its own. Please log A call
Homeland Posted May 23, 2013 Author Posted May 23, 2013 No they haven't created there own, I will log a call now thank you.
CAM Posted May 24, 2013 Posted May 24, 2013 You need to make sure that teacher numbers are in place, pay information is set up, support staff are on the system, catering/cleaning staff have a headcount and keep track of who is in from a supply agency on the day. SupportNet tends to have guidance notes or you can obtain them from your LA if they offer them. You can dry run the SWC nearer the date (it might not be available yet) in Routines > Statutory Returns > School Census by creating a new census and clicking Create and Validate. It will give you a list of errors to fix and the option to generate Detail Reports that you need to get Personnel to check for any omissions or mistakes. Work closely with Personnel and it will make things a lot easier.
Homeland Posted May 24, 2013 Author Posted May 24, 2013 The LEA have cut all ties with our schools and do not support us at all anymore, and as for Personnel it looks like that might be me.
Homeland Posted May 24, 2013 Author Posted May 24, 2013 Turns out Capita do not provide this and I have to create them all myself, not happy about that at all.
PhilNeal Posted May 24, 2013 Posted May 24, 2013 @Homeland - I'm not happy about this too and will look into it. Sorry.
