iatkinson Posted August 14, 2007 Posted August 14, 2007 Just got sent an email by a teacher with an Access database attached but it appears to be blocked by Outlook. Is there any way I can recover this from my exchange server or has it not let it in at all? Cheers for any help.
mac_shinobi Posted August 14, 2007 Posted August 14, 2007 do you administor the exchange server or have access and priveledges to the exchange server ? If so then its just a case of it being quarintined and removing it from the quarintine from what I am aware, I haven't used exchange yet so cant help you more then that, if you dont then you need to get in touch with the relevant person / people or company who manage your exchange server and get them to un quarintine the attachment.
iatkinson Posted August 14, 2007 Author Posted August 14, 2007 Cheers, I do have full access to the exchange server but not sure where the quarantine or temporary folder for blocked attachments is located.
mrforgetful Posted August 14, 2007 Posted August 14, 2007 I don't think they get quarantined they get completely removed on entry You'll need to remove the file extension from the blocked files list. To do this you'll need the Outlook Web Access Administration Pack which you can download from Microsoft. There's a topic somewhere about sorting this out, was a while ago though and I hate the search thing on Edugeek otherwise I'd find it for you in no time!
mrforgetful Posted August 14, 2007 Posted August 14, 2007 Here's the topic: http://www.edugeek.net/index.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=5459&highlight=owaa
mrforgetful Posted August 15, 2007 Posted August 15, 2007 No problem. Doesn't make it obvious when that pack sounds like it's just to Administrate the Outlook Web Access interface, and most of it is but the blocking page affects everything.
