I am running Office 2007 on Vista, and have noticed a strange thing occurring when i try to start any of the office applications. When I go to the start menu and click on an Office Application it just won't load. There's no message or thinking, it just doesn't do anything. Instead, if i want to open up word, I have to search for a .docx file and click on that.

Has anybody else had this problem? Does anyone know of a solution?

Not seen that myself, have you tried Turning it off and on again?

Yes, and I've even checked that all the cables are plugged in correctly, that it's switched on at the wall, and that I'm not trying to rest my coffee mug on it.

Does Office 2007 have the same setup as Office 2003 .. Ie one key and thats all... or are there other security features ?

Not as I'm aware, and it does not allow for admin installs. Microsoft shooting itself in the foot again. Possibly another reason that business take up is slow.

Have u tried creating a new shortcut? Could be that the Office "special" shortcut has been messed up.

If a normal shortcut works - try a repair install as it should recreate the shortcuts.

These "Special" shortcuts (the ones where there is no apparent Target are a bloody nuisence (sp)

I think Enterprise Edition does.
