promethean board writing all joined

promethean board writing is all joined, even when the pen is clearly taken off the board the writing is still joined together, any ideas?!

I'd say the button in the pen is damaged. Happens from dropping the pen on the floor. Recommend trying new pen to test. Last time I purchased one, it cost £30.

It sounds a lot like the pen is spiking. Try restarting the board by disconnecting the power from the back. I've also solved a spiking problem by updating / refreshing the firmware.

Actually thinking about it, it doesn't sound like spiking. If you have a spare pen follow @Meldrew's advice. You could also try my advice as procedure.

thanks, it was the pen had another in another class to try and that's fine, someone else said they had already tried another pen...
