cpjitservices Posted May 15, 2013 Posted May 15, 2013 A while ago I posted about..... http://www.edugeek.net/forums/wireless-networks/73846-little-app.html I was wondering and hopeing if anyone still has that cause I've lost it..... Can someone send it to me ? AND also was wondering would someone be able to add a "Lock Computer" option to it ? Cheers all. Best Wishes to everyone! Chris.
LosOjos Posted May 15, 2013 Posted May 15, 2013 I don't have the original, but as I like doing these kinds of things (sad, I know!) I recreated it on my lunch and added a lock button for you: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/4779199/Network%20Logoff.zip Ohh BTW, it requires .NET 4 - I know that seems ridiculous but I figured most machines you'd run this on would have SIMS so .NET 4 would be installed anyway... let me know if that's no good 2
FN-GM Posted May 15, 2013 Posted May 15, 2013 @LosOjos thats pretty neat. Would it be possible to make it without the title in the bar? Thanks

Thanks Here you go: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/4779199/Network%20Logoff%20%28No%20Title%29.zip Also, just updated the other version too as I forgot to lock the window size, ooops! 3
fiza Posted May 15, 2013 Posted May 15, 2013 That looks really good but can I ask what context would this be used in?
LosOjos Posted May 15, 2013 Posted May 15, 2013 That looks really good but can I ask what context would this be used in? I'm just the monkey, you'll have to ask the organ grinder about that

Thanks, much better. A little bit more discreet now. No excuse not to lock the screens now! I would be pushing it if i asked to remove you name from it ha ha
cpjitservices Posted May 15, 2013 Author Posted May 15, 2013 Well Users here have a habit of leaving PC's unlocked and some of them cant even find the lock / logoff button on the start menu, if it's like this it's easier for them to find!! One user here cant logoff or lock, ive showed him where it is and the keyboard shortcuts - he just uses the shutdown button.

I would be pushing it if i asked to remove you name from it ha ha or at least tell us how to edit the 'About' button so I can put a support URL on there for the users.

LosOjos Posted May 15, 2013 Posted May 15, 2013 or at least tell us how to edit the 'About' button so I can put a support URL on there for the users. It'd need a bit of a re-jig for that, but I could make it read an INI and display whatever info you want it to? Let me know what kind of info would be useful in there and I'll add the necessary fields

I can see it being very useful for Staff but students would just log each other off
Meldrew Posted May 15, 2013 Posted May 15, 2013 That looks really good but can I ask what context would this be used in? For me, there's a slight chance users might logoff using this, rather than holding down the power button. Meldrew

Thanks

Thanks OK, here you go: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/4779199/Network%20Logoff.zip Two options in the config: Support - lets you set your own support message for the about TitleBar - true/false, does what it says on the tin 1
