I've tried to install Dayz, but i keep getting put back to the steam store?

get a program called play with six. You can install it better through that.

Eugh!!!!!!! no no no! Thats an awful app! Use DayZ Commander instead. Much more lightweight and so much easier to use.

 

 

Saying that, I thought the DayZ mod was now on the steam store anyway?

There seems to be issues with Dayz Commander on steam?

I'd prefer to get a straight install and play asap. That being said, it'll take me ages to get used to Arma 2 controls again!

 

Edit: Also, DayZ standalone looking to start up Alpha phase during June? Is it worth me downloading / installing instead of waiting?

I've never had an issue with DayZ Commander and Steam. Worked straight out of the box, so to speak. I don't know of anyone who had an issue with it either, and all of my friends have Arma2 via Steam. Out of my gaming group, we have around 14 people who play DayZ.

 

Just install it. At worst, you have to point DayZ Commander at your Arma2 steam folder.

 

DayZ Standalone for June is not confirmed. Also, it's only Alpha, and the standalone is a separate game. Which means a price will be involved. If you already have Arma2, just play DayZ as it's free until we get more information about the standalone.
