sted Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 i know i can add say school.local to this so running things from a dfs share dosent pop up annoying "are you sure" boxes but if i do it stops users adding their own trusted sites (which is sometimes useful) is there any way of adding my list of sites and still allowing users to add them as needed?
koryo Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 Hi Sted As an assumption from the above, it sounds like you are using group policy to deploy these settings to your workstations? If that is the case, then would group policy preferences be usefull to you? Although the settings should reset on each logon/logoff for the users, they should still have the ability to change their own trusted sites list for their current logon session. Is this of use to you? : How to configuring IE Site Zone mapping using group policy without locking out the user 1
sted Posted May 6, 2013 Author Posted May 6, 2013 yeah in the end gpp worked just wondered if their was another way
koryo Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 Yes there are other ways to do this, for instance a logon script to set the correct registry keys for the user at login would do almost exactly the same as the group policy preference above (as that is pretty much what happens with the GPP anyway). Is there a specific "thing" your after doing that the GPP doesn't allow in this case?
