I've been asked by SLT whether we can use the timeline (especially the new week to view timeline on the teachers' homepages) to highlight those lessons with missing registers/marks - for example making those lessons show up in a different colour. Does anyone know whether there's a way to do this?

Thanks

So how does sims highlight missing registers for teachers? Tasks they have to complete, or that are overdue are an obvious target for presentation to the user on the home screen of an application.

Simple - It doesn't!

We used to have a change request logged for it to be highlighted before it was removed in the great change request purge.

That's a great idea but no its not possible! You can send a message to the guilty!

When you say not possible, do you mean not possible in the current version of SIMS, or not possible ever? I.e. is there some limiting factor that will mean such a feature will never appear on any future development plans?

That pre-supposes that the lack of that feature would not be a barrier to someone purchasing your product in the first place.

I was going to log a change request, but it doesn't often get a look in. Sometimes if you just shout loudly enough it helps.

On the other hand, a coloured box already exists on their homepage, it's the same as every other box and it means all of the registers should be taken. They shouldn't forget! It should be routine.

I think, rather than give them a different colour, send them a message with the missing registers widget, that annoying system beep is a much more effective reminder than a pretty box ;)
