theo_logical Posted May 1, 2013 Posted May 1, 2013 Hi Can anyone please confirm that all server cabinets are build to the same standard. In other words, will Dell server fit in an HP cabinet? Many thanks
ICTDirect_Dave Posted May 1, 2013 Posted May 1, 2013 Dell servers historically tend to be a bit longer than HP. I'd get the dimensions of the dell and check your cabinet. If they don't fit I can do you great deals on Universal cabinets
teejay Posted May 1, 2013 Posted May 1, 2013 Some of the Dell rack mounts do require quite a deep frame, the actual length of the server isn't a problem, it's the minimum length that the rack mounts will install in that can be a problem. Measure the gap between your front and back rails and check with Dell if it will fit. You may also find that you can move your front and/or back mounting rails further apart, but it's a swine of a job if your cab already has equipment in.
cpjitservices Posted May 1, 2013 Posted May 1, 2013 What he said ;P You may also find that you can move your front and/or back mounting rails further apart, but it's a swine of a job if your cab already has equipment in.
zag Posted May 1, 2013 Posted May 1, 2013 I use a dell 24u cabinet and its very deep. Lots of space at the back though. The new Dell R320's are 64cm long if thats any help. Our Dell server cabinet is 96cm deep.
MatthewL Posted May 1, 2013 Posted May 1, 2013 All I will say if that in the past I have had huge issues with Dell kit in cabs made by the likes on Cannon, ended up getting Dell branded ones to resolve it.
