MattDLEA Posted May 1, 2013 Posted May 1, 2013 The two office staff have been told by SIMS that they need local admin rights to c:\program Files\SIMS . However we have this conversation every time the SIMS guys come in to do an update. As the set up is they should have admin rights to that folder already. What is the easiest way to give these two users Full local admin rights to there computer with them still logged on to the network. - They only use there computers in the office. Thanks
aleach2 Posted May 1, 2013 Posted May 1, 2013 There are several ways of achieving what you want do: 1) Add the two office users to the Local Administrator group on the two computers in question (Probably the easiest way if it is only two computers) 2) Create a new group (call it local comp admins for example) add the two users to it, then use group policy to add the newly created group to the Computer Configuration > Policies > Windows Settings > Security Settings > Restricted Groups > Administrators I hope this helps. It’s a bit on the rushed side but if you need any more detail just let me know. Adam.
Grey-gear Posted May 1, 2013 Posted May 1, 2013 (edited) What we do is have a sims user group on our AD, add the two users to that group and what give that group full control of that folder on the computer. Also make the Sims group power users on the computer and full control of the C:\windows folder. Edited May 1, 2013 by Grey-gear
