Hi,

We just updated our wireless network. I have some Lenovo T61 laptops running Windows XP which will allow me to connect wirelessly if I'm logged in as admin. However, they connect after user authentication using both access connections or Windows wireless utility. If I attempt to login as anyone who isn't admin, I can't because they aren't connecting to the wireless upon startup.

Thanks in advance for your help.

There's a GPO under Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\System\Logon which is something along the lines of Wait for the Network at Startup - have you got this set to enabled?

Anthony,

I didn't set up the wireless network, but any Windows 7 laptops which we have are working fine, so I'm assuming that it is set up as it should be.

Thank you very much for your prompt response.

The setting that controls wireless authentication before the ctrl-alt-del screen is "Authenticate as computer when computer information is available" - make sure that's checked. If you are doing 802.1x authentication you need to ensure the RADIUS server is authenticating Domain Computers (or a subset of this group)
