Upload from iPad

When uploading from an iPad it replaces the file names with image.jpg so it's not possible to upload more than one at a time. Anyone else seen this?

Yep, I've asked in the v9 features thread for a new feature to randomly rename files on upload. Hope this is a possible.

Which upload box do you get on a iPad/iPhone? 5 Upload boxes, or just 1?

Just the 1 upload box Nick (or at least only 1 on mine) - I'm intrigued to find out how anyone on iPad/iPhones is able to upload anything other photos from their Camera Roll though as there is no other 'file system' to pick on documents from

The Camera Roll is a limitation of iOS. Get a Windows 8 Tablet . I'll add a checkbox to "add a random name suffix"

The way I'm doing it is for all our iPads to have one set email address set on all of them, they can then email documents from apps such as pages to their own student email.

 

For videos I'm currently using an app called simple transfer but there's other ways of doing it i think as I've been pointed out but i've not looked into them yet.

 

I really wish the school had gone for W8 tablets instead, we had these ipads just dumped on us because the head thought it would be a good idea to splash what cash the school had left at the end of the last financial year on something we hadn't used or tested in this environment just because he liked his own :/

We're in the honeymoon period of them, only had them active a few days so naturally every man and his dog wants to book them, that'll soon wear off when they realise they can't do anything they want to with them. Then it'll be a £10k paper weight (the trolley and all 30 iPads!)

 

We'd be better off bringing back all the staff laptops and swaping them with the iPads, then we can use the laptops for the kids and the ipads can be setup the way apple intend them to be...for a single user!
