sqdge Posted August 4, 2007 Posted August 4, 2007 Can anybody think up a way to explain to a 94 year-old how a flash memory card works? I've only just got him to understand the concept of digital. Now he wants to know how his digital camera works. I tried earlier, but failed.
sqdge Posted August 4, 2007 Author Posted August 4, 2007 Tell him magic fairys make it work D: He may be ignorant about technology - but I think even he would be able to see through that one!
russdev Posted August 4, 2007 Posted August 4, 2007 Tell him the card is like a photo box... The camera takes the picture and then stores photo in the box... Like when you would take a photo and get it developed and then store it in box to keep it safe along with all your other photo's.. In this case the photobox is the memory card... Russell

Russell I've done something similar, but he's picky (he's from Yorkshire). He actually wants to know how it really works. We should have never given him the digital camera.
AlexB Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 Forgot explaining flash memory, you'll need to explain jpeg format for storing before the flash memory is important, but go for, the whole hog, do it the right way
