[android tablet] Android Remote Software

Does anyone know of any software to remote a PC from an Android tablet - I have downloaded a few but they take control of the workstation.

 

The idea behind this is to have a wired machine in the hall to run the projector and sound - but have a tablet to control it. My efforts so far allow me to have the desktop on the tablet screen, however the PC screen changes to a login screen. I need it on both to display to the projector.

 

Has anyone managed to get this sort of thing working?

 

(The tablet is running 4.1 jelly bean).

Rather than RDP (which it sounds like you've been trying), go for a simple mouse/keyboard remote maybe?

You seem to be looking for a VNC type of solution rather than RDP.

How about teamviewer? I use it to log into machines at work and at home

Run UltraVNC server on PC and Mocha VNC light on your droid

Unified Remote should work. You install the server program on the PC you want to control and it will show up in the Android app.

You were all right about the RDP vs VNC - RDP was causing the problem.

If you have a Samsung smartphone or tablet you can use TeamViewer QuickSupport to control your Android device from a PC.

I was just asking coz my elderly Dad got a tablet for Xmas - and so now I'm trying to support over the phone - its a bit of a 'mare - it was OK on his PC with the free LogMeIn - but now trying to understand what he is doing from description only is next to impossible - its an old Archos job by the way.
