SteveB_NI Posted April 18, 2013 Posted April 18, 2013 I needed to link my iPad to an Apple TV today for the purposes of displaying a Keynote presentation which included a large video stored locally on the iPad. Just noticed my data usage is crazy high already but can't be sure that it was caused by the iPad hotspot usage or something else. Can anyone confirm or deny that using a personal hotspot to simply show a Keynote presentation on an Apple TV would eat into my data allowance? Thanks!
Edu-IT Posted April 19, 2013 Posted April 19, 2013 Does the Apple TV contact Apple to check for updates etc maybe?
SovietRussia Posted April 19, 2013 Posted April 19, 2013 It is only streaming your screen, so it should be low, as all the video playback for your large video is done on the iPad. Video may be more than your usual web browsing due to the frame rate, as when a frame changes it then pushes the visual update to the Apple TV.
