Sccm 2012 noob questions

Hi Guys

 

Just a few questions

 

We are moving over from wds/mdt 2012 to sccm 2012, questions are

 

Do i still use wds in the same way as mdt deploy the images from the wds share, or does sccm do it all?

 

Does mdt work with sccm 2012 if so what are the pros and cons for doing this

Q1 SCCM does it all

SCCM just uses the PXE part of WDS and in SCCM 2012 it installs and sets this up for you so you shouldn't have to worry about it.

Yes you can use MDT with SCCM. When MDT is installed there is a shortcut in the programs menu to integrate MDT with SCCM. You have to give it some sccm details and then you have all the goodies of MDT in SCCM.

You will get a MDT section in the task sequences section.

Can think of any cons to be honest as you can either use it or not.

You don't have to integrate mdt. It all depends how complicated you want to make the osd aspect. Also if you are planning a org wide OS upgrade you may want to make it truly zti.
