E_G_R2 Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 Good game and close finish. Bloody Germans got in my way (told you to man up)
kearton Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 2nd! Some schoolboy errors 4-5 turns back sealed my fate. Well played chaps! http://www.playdiplomacy.com/view_image.php?game_id=58789&gdate=25¤t_phase=N
E_G_R2 Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 That was hard work trying to keep an alliance going knowing you'd have to do the dirty not once but twice!!! Fair play to Italy who must have been looking over their shoulder every move. Think we all made the odd cock up or two just to keep things interesting.
TechMonkey Posted April 5, 2013 Author Posted April 5, 2013 Ha, to be honest, I really wasn't. Came totally out of the blue. Think that is why I'm not suited to this game after all!
E_G_R2 Posted April 6, 2013 Posted April 6, 2013 Game 4 I'm in :)GAME1 - if you need a France then let me know the password I'm sure I could help mix some well thought strategy's up
kearton Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 OK, still only 3 players for Game4... should we cancel this game and start a 3-player game (instead of waiting for 4 more players) ???? There are special rules for <7 players, btw: Play Diplomacy Online • View topic - PlayDiplomacy short-handed game rules (<7 players) Or is anyone else interested in Game4 still? (or even 1-2 more to join in a <7 player game?)
E_G_R2 Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 Would prefer a 7 player but if were up to 5 or 6 that would be good
kearton Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 The rules for 5 players is that both Italy and Germany are in Civil disorder (pieces on the board that don't move). 6 players = Italy only in disorder. 4 players is a bit different.. 1 person plays England, and the other 3 play 2 countries each (Austria and France; Italy and Russia; Germany and Turkey) I will start a new "Game5" at approx 8:30 tonight with the number of players that have expressed an interest at that point (currently 4)...
kearton Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 PS If anyone wants a 12hr turn 2-player match with me, I've created one. First in first served (but I'm happy to play as many games as there is demand for) Game number:59932 Password:deathmatch Random countries: 2-player game: England/Russia/France; Germany/Austria/Turkey; Italy special. Builds / destroys in 2-4 player games are calculated on a country by country basis, and are NOT aggregated by player. So as an example, a player controlling France and Turkey might have a French build and a Turkish destroy. These both have to be done – they do not offset each other. Victory conditions for the 3 and 4 player games are as normal but based on a SINGLE country, not all the countries played by the player. So if England and Germany and Austria reach 18 centres, this means nothing. The game is won when Germany (for example) reaches 18. The 2 player game is quite different. For a start, there are special rules governing Italy. In Year 1, Italy is Neutral. This means it acts as if it is in Civil Disorder, but also that all Italian territory is out of bounds. Once the Fall moves have finished in Year 1, including any retreats, Italian territory can now be entered but Italy remains in Civil Disorder throughout the game. Victory conditions are no longer on a single country basis; instead, the winner is the first player to control a total aggregate of 24 centres regardless of country.

kearton Posted April 10, 2013 Posted April 10, 2013 Yeah, sorry about not joining. Real life got in the way The game is still open if you're still interested.
kearton Posted April 10, 2013 Posted April 10, 2013 1v1 Game vs @E_G_R2 is going strong. If anyone else fancies a 2 (or even 3) player match starting tonight please PM me. There's also still 1 place up for grabs in the 4-player "EduGeek5" game, and 3 places up for grabs in the 7-player "EduGeek4" game.
E_G_R2 Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 Come on just 2 or 3 more to make another full game. Its like Novell - you won't know until you try it and it dosn't have to take taht much time if we all coordinate completing orders (once the Diplomacy bits been done of course) So role up and join - please
