IPADS & Storage HELP

I need a bit of help and guidance please...

 

Just getting 25 ipads, a charging sync trolley, mac mini server and will set up profiles with Configurator.. Can someone one tell me the best way to transfer and save data from the ipads before their profiles are synced and reset each night?

The way we tackle it is to use the SimplTransfer app to take photos/videos off the iPads. I don't think there is a way to copy saved game data.

 

The app shows you the IP address of that particular iPad so you just type it in to your browser of choice on the PC/Mac and you can see and download all or a selection of your files before you wipe them off.

I've just started using a piece of software called InstaShare, Its ios and mac only at the moment while they work on a Windows version. Which allows the user of the ipad to choose which videos/images are sent to the mac for back up. It seems to be working well at the moment. Will keep you posted.

James, do you send the photo or video etc to a share you have created on the mac via WIFI?

Yes, it works really well, and the speed of which is transfers is excellent. Ive also noticed staff sharing data between each other using the same app and then backing up one ipad rather than all of them at once. Cheers

Can the share be easily mapped on each ipad?

yes, saving us a job as a techy, And the app runs on the mac server and from there you can point it to the right directory. All the student/staff have to do is select the data they went drag over the share button and it is automatically sent to the mac server and goes to the designated directory. Cheers
