laserblazer Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 Our Epson EMP830 is over 7 years old, is getting dim and the controller has packed up. So maybe now is a good time to replace it. I'm looking for something around 3000 lumen, XGA or better and preferably without filters to clean. The Epson is positioned 430cm from a 3m x 3m screen.
3s-gtech Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 Had good service from Optoma DLP units for this task, always used WXGA ones as they're used to show high def TV, laptop displays etc. They're good value too. We rotate them out after three years. Optoma EX615 3500 ANSI Lumens XGA DLP Projector (EX615) - www.misco.co.uk - XGA Optoma EW631 3500 ANSI Lumens WXGA Projector (EW631) - www.misco.co.uk - WXGA 1
jamesreedersmith Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 If you want something a little brighter look at the Casio Pro series - an XJ-H1700 maybe. 1

XiJ Posted March 20, 2013 Posted March 20, 2013 A throw ratio of 1.4 would (just) squeeze it into a Casio XJ-A15x range for an LED solution. Thats 3000 ANSI Lumens 1
