I've had quite a few cold calls from companies saying they are 'following up from BETT' in the last few weeks. Companies I am quite certain I didn't visit or allow to scan my badge.

This hasn't been my experience in previous years; has anyone else noticed the same?

I haven't had many but some of the ones I did have were certainly not ones that scanned me. I know who they are as they laugh about the fact that my name on my badge was Wi Tch

What I've advised people who go to Bett is to setup an e-mail alias or a separate e-mail account altogether to avoid being 'spammed' by companies from Bett.

I can't really say I've recieved more [even though I have] as I pretty much went everywhere this year. Last year I wandered aimlessly.

However, I have seen an increase in the number of companies blindly copy+pasting details. [They don't strip out the "X-13" from my name.]

Though, I have recieved a few from companies I either didn't see or that left absolutely no lasting impression what so ever.

I've received hardly any, even though my boss signed me up to every category of junk she could...

Even some of the companies who we met there haven't contacted us!

Could it just be companies which have bought data and using Bett as an excuse to call?

I did think of that, and have been checking the exhibitor list. So far, all of them who are claiming to be calling about BETT were indeed there.

Doesn't rule out that theory though.

I've had a rise in non-cover related spam after BETT, even the show itself is landing in the LA's spam traps. Some company called EBM trying to punt HP kit?

Thankfully no calls (but they probably get lost in the torrent of rejected cold calls from cover companies that somehow know I do cover even though I have had no dealing with them before).
