Hi everyone. Someone is complaining of a projector that wont turn on because its temp light is lit. I have turned it off at the wall and then left it 10 mins and it does work after this but as soon as it is soft switched off it goes back to temp light. Apparently the end user cant cope with with turning it off at the wall after using the soft switch so I need to take it down and have a quick look. The big problem is that I cant see how to get the thing off the short throw arm that it is attached to.

Does anyone know an easy way to get the TDP-ST20 down ?

This is what im talking about

Hi have you cleaned the filter as this is the usual candidate for a projector overheating?

You do not usually have to take the projector down to clean the filter. The filter is usually close to the air vent and is usually easy to pop up with the projector in situ. Once it is out give it a quick blow through and pop it back in.

Hi Squeeky, From memory on that particular mount all the bolt treads are reversed, you need to turn the bolt the opposite way to remove the projector. I believe it was a security thing.

You are correct, just taken one down. Look on top, right hand side when facing screen and the screw in a chanfered deep hole. Tighten it fully then the projector will be able to slide to the right off its pegs which fit in key hole slots. Job done. Incidentally, try stripping it down and cleaning it out, they do get quite dusty inside as no filters. Had a c ouple with similar issues and a full clean worked. They are quite easy to fully strip and rebuild right down to the mirrors and lenses.
