timbo343 Posted March 8, 2013 Posted March 8, 2013 OK, so now ive setup BYOD, is there a way to get around the certificate warnings on BYOD devices for ruckus and smoothwall so they dont appear as these will get annoying.

IrritableTech Posted March 8, 2013 Posted March 8, 2013 We got a free 2 year certificate from SSL Certificates SSL Wildcard SSL Free Certificates SSL Server Certificate 256 bits for our ruckus system. We created a dns record for wifi.school.local and generated a certificate request. They come back pretty quickly. It is a bit of a pain getting the certificate into the ruckus box, due to needing additional certificates (SSL Certificate Authority low-cost, fully-validated 38$ SSL and 276$ Wildcard Certificates) but it is do-able. Perhaps someone knows a better authority?

Ashm Posted March 8, 2013 Posted March 8, 2013 StartSSL is another free one that could be used. We use it for both Ruckus & Smoothwall. Ruckus is fairly easy to do through the web interface but you have to get your hands dirty with Smoothwall as you need to run a number of commands and edit files etc. There's some good info in this thread - http://www.edugeek.net/forums/smoothwall-direct-support/106121-intermediate-ssl-certificates.html
