oalcock Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 Hello All, 2 machines with identical office 2000 packages on them, both have the exact same version of office convertor. Try opening the same office 2010 document on both machines, one converts the document and opens it straight away, the other asks you to save it. We want the incompatible documents to just convert and open, any suggestions would be appreciated? Both machines are running Windows XP Professional SP3. I would provide a screenshot, but everytime I try and do one, there is something in the image that I would prefer not to be posted on the internet like personal phone numbers etc, so apologies I can't be any help in that sense! Office Versions - Microsoft Office 2000 SR-1 Version 9.00.3821 Convertor Versions - Microsoft Office 2007 Convertor 12.0.6612.1000 Many Thanks Oliver.
Michael Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 From the top of my head there is a 2010 converter as well. Maybe worth trying this? 1
VeryPC_Tom_M Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 I think I've found the solution here: The Save As dialog box is displayed when you use Windows Explorer to open an Office file after you install the Compatibility Pack 1
oalcock Posted March 5, 2013 Author Posted March 5, 2013 Thanks for all your help guys! I am afraid still no avail with the solutions provided above. I have tried reinstalling the convertor. The annoying thing is that it works on some but not others :-(
oalcock Posted March 5, 2013 Author Posted March 5, 2013 I am sorry to be a pain - but this still isn't resolved I am afraid. Any suggestions would be appreciated!
