Microsoft Schools Agreement

[atfnet]

Hi, Just wondering how many of you use a Microsoft Schools Agreement?

How much it’s costing you and what software you get?

Which company you went thought to get it?

Why you decided to go for it over the normal licensing model?

Do you pay for it out of your IT Budget or is it a whole school purchase?

Thanks

Andy

We use the schools agreement, but use a company called insight.. 0800 333 333, They are REALLY cheap. They have just done a new solution for us which has saved the school £2000.

This is hwat we currently have:

r18-01628 Windows Server CAL All Languages WAH MVL Device CAL x 387

R18-00095 Windows Server CAL All Languages Lic/SA Pack MVL Device CAL x 387

P73-00203 Windows Svr Std All Lng Lic/SA Pack MVL x 10

E84-00308 ISA Server Std Ed All Languages Lic/SA Pack MVL 1 Processor License x 1

76J-01821 Office Enterprise All Lng Lic/SA Pack MVL School x 387

76J-01759 Office Enterprise All Lng WAH MVL x 387

381-02123 Exchange Standard CAL All Lng WAH MVL Device CAL x 387

381-01587 Exchange Standard CAL All Lng Lic/SA Pack MVL Device CAL x 387

312-02177 Exchange Svr All Languages Lic/SA Pack MVL x 1

228-03159 SQL Svr Standard Edtn Win32 All Lng Lic/SA Pack MVL 1 Processor License x 1

THis cost the school just over £6000 and you get all the updates from microsoft and you have to change to download the cds and products from their website. You pay yearly for them and when a new version of say office or SQL is out you are automatically entited to upgrade.

We have a MSA for:

187 x Windows Server CALS

187 x Office Enterprise

187 x Windows Desktop

187 x Encarta

5 x Windows Server Standard

1 x ISA Server Standard

And that comes to £4500 IIRC through a company called TME (South West) Ltd. This is a yearly MSA rather than a three year contract.

This is from a whole school budget as far as I'm aware.
